St. Isaac’s Square & Cathedral: We start our tour at the square of St. Isaac. It is a large open area in front of the cathedral. It’s one of the city’s most prominent squares, known for its wide, elegant layout and impressive surroundings.
Guided tour of St. Isaac’s cathedral. Built between 1818 and 1858, St. Isaac’s Cathedral was designed by the French architect Auguste de Montferrand in the neoclassical style. The cathedral’s massive dome is one of the largest in the world, measuring 102 meters (335 feet) in height, and it’s covered in 100 kg of gold. The interior is adorned with lavish marble, mosaics, and gilded decorations. The dome and the walls are richly decorated with biblical scenes and religious iconography, creating a visually stunning space.

The Admiralty embankment: It offers scenic views of the river and the surrounding area. It’s a great spot for a leisurely walk, with picturesque views of the city’s bridges, canals, and the Winter Palace in the distance.
The Admiralty. This neoclassical building, built on spot of the 18th century shipyard, has served as the headquarters of the Russian Navy. The structure is topped with a gold-plated spire, which is a symbol of St. Petersburg. Its iconic silhouette is visible from many points along the Neva River.

Winter Palace & Neva River Embankment: Enjoy beautiful views of the grand Winter Palace along the scenic Neva River. was the official residence of Russian tsars from the times of Empress Elizabeth to 1917, serving as the political and royal heart of the Russian Empire. It is part of the Hermitage Museum, one of the largest and most renowned art museums in the world. The palace itself is a masterpiece of baroque architecture, with its grand facades and ornate interiors.
Designed by Bartolomeo Rastrelli in the mid-18th century, the Winter Palace boasts an extravagant style, with intricate stucco work, gilded moldings, and towering statues. The green and white color scheme of the building adds to its majestic appearance.
Winter Canal & Millionnaya Street: These picturesque streets offer amazing views of St. Petersburg, often referred to as “Russian Venice” due to the canals and waterways.
Guided tour to the church of the Savior on Spilled Blood: We visit one of St. Petersburg’s most iconic and spectacular landmarks. It was built on the site where Emperor Alexander II had been assassinated in 1881, hence the name “on Spilled Blood”. The church is an outstanding example of Russian style, with colorful onion domes, intricate mosaics, and a vibrant, almost fairytale-like exterior. Its design draws inspiration from traditional Russian churches, with a striking resemblance to Moscow’s St. Basil’s Cathedral.
Griboedov Canal & Moika River: These waterways are lined with beautiful bridges, offering great photo opportunities.
Nevsky Prospect: The city’s main avenue, bustling with shops, cafes, and historic buildings. It is a central point for cultural, social, and commercial life. Over the centuries, it has witnessed some of the most important events in Russian history and remains a symbol of St. Petersburg’s imperial past.
Bank Bridge : This legendary bridge provides an incredible view of one of the St. Petersburg legendary cathedrals.
Kazan Cathedral: We visit the grand Kazan cathedral located on Nevsky Prospect. It was built to house the icon of Our Lady of Kazan, one of Russia’s most revered religious relics. The icon is believed to have miraculous powers, and for centuries, it has been a focal point of Russian devotion.
Gostiny Dvor (Merchant’s Yard): Stroll the historic department store with an elegant atmosphere. Being one of the oldest and most famous shopping centers in St. Petersburg. Located along the Nevsky Prospect, this historic arcade is an important landmark and has played a significant role in the city’s commercial history.
Arts Square: Home to impressive art galleries and cultural institutions.
Malaya Sadovaya Street: A charming pedestrian street in the downtown, great for a stroll.
Eliseev’s Food Hall: Stop at the historic grocery store with a taste of Russian culinary traditions – a destination for anyone visiting St. Petersburg, offering a fascinating blend of historical charm, luxury food items, and superb architecture. The store features elaborate decorations, including columns, gilded moldings, stained glass windows, and crystal chandeliers, giving it a palatial feel.
A the end of the tour we have a very unusual visit to the metro of St. Petersburg. We take a metro ride through history. You will see the Soviet-era and modern metro stations, some of them being the most beautiful in the world.
